The Lab
“The knowledge produced on entrepreneurial ecosystems is essential for policymakers and entrepreneurship stakeholders”
Karim MESSEGHEM
The EE Lab was created to shed light on a highly dynamic field of research, entrepreneurial ecosystems, and to foster knowledge sharing.
Since 2013, research on entrepreneurial ecosystems has been conducted within the Labex Entreprendre. A first PhD thesis topic was proposed linking the entrepreneurial ecosystem with incubator strategies. Defended by Christina Theodoraki in 2016, this thesis won the thesis award of the Académie de l’entrepreneuriat and gave rise to numerous publications. In 2018, a second PhD thesis topic was proposed in partnership with Crédit Agricole. It focuses on micro-ecosystems and on the ability of new actors to find their place within the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
This website aims to showcase the work carried out within the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Lab. It also seeks to foster exchanges between practitioners, researchers and students.
The Lab’s mission

Academic strand
This work feeds into teaching in the field of entrepreneurship, particularly within the Master’s in Entrepreneurial Support. In the first year, a course on the entrepreneurial ecosystem offers students an immersive discovery of the richness of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. In the second year, a challenge is organised in which students invent new support organisations: the Entrepreneurial Support Challenge
