In the entrepreneurial support ecosystem, incubator strategies give rise to three types of relationship: competition-dominated coopetition, balanced coopetition, and cooperation-dominated coopetition.
These strategies can be linked to the incubation process, which breaks down into three mechanisms: project selection, the provision of resources and skills, and access to networks.
Project selection involves coopetitive relationships dominated by competition. The provision of resources and skills is characterised by balanced relationships. Access to networks goes hand in hand with coopetitive relationships dominated by cooperation.
